Getting Started - Cycle Monitoring Instructions

Daily Ultrasound and Blood Tests:
Monday- Friday from 7:00 am to 9:30 am
Saturday & Sunday from 8:00 am to 10:00 am (use buzzer code 20)
Holiday hours vary, please check postings or call for times.

  1. When you arrive, please sign your name on the ultrasound clipboard list for your physician and/or blood list (depending on what you require, if you are not sure ask the receptionist or nurse).
    If you are having a pregnancy blood test only, sign the pregnancy blood list only.
    If you are receiving an injection only by the nurse (ie no blood tests or ultrasounds), sign on the list with INJECTION ONLY next to your name.
    If you are not sure, ask the receptionist or nurse.
  2. If you are having a sperm wash insemination, put SW beside your name.
    If you are having a cervical sperm penetration test, put CI beside your name
    If you are not sure what to put, please ask the nurse.
    NOTE: If you are using a donor sperm sample, speak with a nurse when you arrive.
  3. If you are having an ultrasound, change into a patient gown (one open to your front and one open to your back), and label a bag provided with your name for daily use. Due to a shortage of gowns, they must be re-used for the whole cycle. When you are finished a cycle, kindly take your name off the bag and put the used gowns into the laundry hamper.
  4. You will be called in turn by the Blood lab technician, the Ultrasound technician, and the Doctor (as required).
  5. After you are seen by the doctor, you will be told when to return next.
  6. If you need to purchase medications, please DO NOT submit receipts to your insurance company unless you find out the terms of your drug plan and discuss it with your doctor first.

You will be told either the morning before, or called the afternoon before, when a semen sample is required for artificial insemination the next day. Do not bring a semen sample, unless you are told to do so.

ALL semen samples should be produced in the clinic or brought to the clinic (within 1/2 hour (if possible), but no longer than 1 1/2 hours, from production) during the hours:
Monday - Friday between 7:00 am to 9:00 am ONLY
Saturday & Sunday between 8:00 am and 9:30 am ONLY; Holidays (check hours).

SEMEN ANALYSIS ONLY or SPERM FREEZING : Monday - Friday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Other times can be considered on request.
